Investigación cualitativa y cuantitativa: complementos brillantes

Abstract

La creación y validación de una escala requiere de un proceso arduo en el que se navega constantemente entre dos grandes metodologías de la investigación, cualitativa y cuantitativa. Por un lado, el proceso requiere de la identificación de constructos y percepciones humanas, en los que la investigación cualitativa será de gran ayuda. Por otro lado, la validación tiene una connotación de ajuste estadístico, en que la investigación cuantitativa complementa los saberes. Se genera así una creación sólida que tiene en cuenta lo mejor de ambos mundos y que será utilizada para medir eso que creíamos inmedible.

The creation and validation of a scale requires an arduous process where one constantly navigates between two great research methodologies, qualitative and quantitative, the process requires the identification of constructs and human perceptions, in which qualitative research will be of great help. On the other hand, validation has a connotation of statistical adjustment, where quantitative research complements knowledge, thus generating a solid creation that takes into account the best of both worlds and that will be used to measure what we believed to be immeasurable.
