The study aimed to understand the impact of extrinsic motivation on English learning in classes of eighth-grade students at Gimnasio Los Pinos and how extrinsic motivation can be used to create an engaging learning experience in English classes. The research highlights the importance of paying attention to students' motivations to create a positive learning environment that encourages students to participate actively in their learning process. In that way extrinsic motivation works as a tool to make more engaging and effective English classes. In that way it is a tool to make learning a second language.
